When You Need a Little Loving Help

MainStreet Lodge and RiverVillage assisted living communities in Northeast are here for you.

People move into assisted living communities for a lot of reasons. Some like to plan ahead, some get a nudge from their kids, and others decide on their own that they’re in need of some assistance. Whatever reason that brings you to MainStreet Lodge or RiverVillage East, the staff of Catholic Eldercare will welcome you with open arms.

MainStreet Lodge
MainStreet Lodge is a vibrant, newly remodeled assisted living community with 51 apartments. Residents enjoy dining together, or in their own apartments, and participating in a multitude of programs and activities, like music therapy, exercise, happy hours, shopping outings, and other excursions. They are also grateful to be able to attend Mass in the Chapel on site, or next door at St. Anthony of Padua Chapel, just a short indoor walk within the building.

Kat Dunbar is the nurse manager at MainStreet Lodge. In her leadership role, she oversees the nursing services, assists with medication management for those that need it, and makes sure residents get the care they need. “I love interacting with residents and staff,” she says. “I’m a people person and I want the interaction because I want residents and staff to trust me and know I’m their advocate. I feel like they’re all my grandparents. One resident comes by my office every day, just to say hi. It’s so sweet.”

River Village East
RiverVillage is also a newly remodeled assisted living residence, with an exercise room, coffee bar, and library. It’s part of a thriving neighborhood that includes St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. Assisted living and Memory Care residents have their own apartment at RiverVillage East and can take a short indoor walk to St. Hedwig’s for Mass and to participate in events, in addition to the activities we offer.

Jodi Barton is a Registered Nurse at RiverVillage East. “My goal is to be the best version of myself and support others in any way I can,” she says. “I sit down with residents and ask them how things are going and what additional help they need. I get to know them, hear about their life experiences, their families, and their friends.” Jodi wants residents to feel supported and know they can come to her with questions and to ask for things they need.”

As Director of Operations for Housing and Community Based Services, Stephanie Capelle oversees MainStreet Lodge and RiverVillage East. Stephanie’s overall goal is to make our assisted living environments feel as much like home as possible in communities that meet the medical, social, and spiritual needs of our residents. “I love that Catholic Eldercare is a small organization where I can get to know residents, families, and staff well. We stand behind the care we give and feel confident in what we do. No one gets lost in the shuffle here.”

Stephanie is grateful for the continuum of care at Catholic Eldercare because it makes transitions easier, although the goal is to keep residents healthy, safe and as happy in Assisted Living for as long as possible. “Our care keeps couples and friends together. Our residents have good relationships, and they look out for each other. They talk about each other’s families, and our staff also engages in those conversations. It’s one thing to say you are faith based, but we live it in our words and actions.”
