University of St. Thomas Collaborative Series: Join us for an interactive learning experience as we learn about music as well as participate in some music-making. Come to one or all of our sessions! March 20, 2012 (Tues.): Music of America, Part 1
Lecturer: Susan Anderson-Benson, Bachelors and Masters in Music – 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Jazz, swing and blues are America’s own music. From the earliest days in the 1910's and 1920s to today, the music continues to inspire and excite us. In this session, we'll learn about the major aspects of these styles, hear and watch major works, and even sing a little.

May 15, 2012 (Tues.): Music of America, Part 2
1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
We all have our favorite musicals. In this session, we’ll learn about some of the most significant works from American musical theater, and also engage in some sing-along with all time favorites from this style.
